This series of monochrome work on paper was inspired by a winter visit to Osea Island, Essex. Accessible via a causeway at low tide, Osea affords views across the River Blackwater estuary back to the Essex coastline. Imagined at high tide and in winter, these views recall the artist's childhood in the area and feelings of severance and de-racination associated with being on an island.
