About Square Games

Whether a game of Sudoku, Scrabble or an art work, the square provides endless opportunities for creativity within a constrained format. In visual art the square neutralises the ‘portrait’ / ‘landscape’ dichotomy and as in Gustav Klimt’s landscape works, frees our ability to observe the world more objectively.

I return to abstract square-format work time and time again while refreshing my thinking about other topics.
